Jon Pocock
He spent 12 years working for British Rail Research developing and delivering state of the art condition monitoring products for the rail market before joining Risk Solutions in 2001. Since then he has enjoyed working for a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors. While he gets to do a wide range of projects, he particularly enjoys building software based simulation or management tools to help inform strategic decision making and evaluate policy choices. Recent projects include developing a modelling system that will enable Defra to evaluate strategies to manage and control animal disease outbreaks such as Foot and Mouth Disease and Avian Influenza, identifying how well existing railway standards control the risk of train derailment in the UK, and providing graphical analysis tools to inform London Underground track and telecommunications investment strategies over the next 20 years. A keen musician, he can often be found leading worship in his local church, but also likes the challenge of throwing together a band to liven up a party. |
