Risk Solutions - leave nothing to chance

Alistair Kennedy

Alistair KennedyHaving graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in Civil Engineering, Alistair began his working life with British Rail Research in 1985.

Alistair specialised in novel ways of managing the railway's track and structures assets, before moving on to producing safety cases for new rolling stock - such as Siemens' Heathrow Express trains.

In 1998, shortly after railway privatisation, Alistair joined Risk Solutions to pursue his interest in risk management principles and their application to decision making generally.

Over the intervening period, he led a number of key projects in the rail sector before becoming one of Risk Solutions' Directors in 2001. In addition to helping steer the company through a period of major change, Alistair has been closely involved with a wide range of projects including, recently, a major review of DVLA's medical driver licensing process and working with the Rail Safety and Standards Board to develop an innovative safety model for DfT.

As an armchair rugby union fan, another Risk Solutions career highlight was 'monitoring the crowd' at an England international (England won).
