Celebrating our first 10 years

Risk Solutions celebrated its first ten years by looking at the risks and opportunities of time travel with former colleagues and a wide cross-section of clients.

The evening, titled "2008: A Time Odyssey" was hosted by our own incarnation of The Doctor who challenged our guests to decide which of the many organisations represented should be allowed to licence the UK Government's newly acquired technology for time travel.

As we glided along the Thames on board the Silver Barracuda, reflecting on how major events have shaped our society, we considered the benefits from careful use of time travel and three organisations were shortlisted.  Each then 'pitched' for the right to use the technology; the winning concept being the HMRC team's proposals for 'life-tax'.  The idea being that tax inspectors would use time travel to calculate an individual's whole-life tax bill at birth in a bid to prevent tax evasion!  The winning table then nominated Cancer Research UK to receive its prize winnings.
